The joint M.S.W. Program focuses on helping people from all cultures, especially those who have faced trauma. It teaches how to understand people’s culture, history, and identity. The program works to address social, health, and economic issues, aiming to build supportive relationships that promote resilience.

It considers mental health, the environment, and community factors. By using culturally respectful methods, the program helps improve lives and social well-being.

Electives

Each student must take 2 elective courses to gain additional knowledge and skills for advanced multicultural clinical social work practice. Electives are offered based on student interest and instructor availability.

Students can take electives at either UNC Greensboro or NC A&T, regardless of their home campus.

  • If taking an elective at the host campus, students must register using the Joint Programs Cross Registration Form at their home campus.
